Compensation: $65,000 – $70,000/year (Dependent on experience)

About the Opportunity
Children’s Corner Learning Center is seeking a highly passionate leader to helm our beautiful facility in Purchase, NY. We are looking for an inspiring professional who brings valuable experience earned directly within a child care setting—someone who understands the unique rewards and operational rhythms of early childhood education.
Nestled in a premier corporate park with easy access to I-287 and the Hutchinson River Parkway, our center provides a nurturing, top-tier environment for approximately 110 enrolled children and 25 dedicated teachers.
As the Center Director, you will be the heart of our community. You will shape the educational experience, mentor an enthusiastic team of educators, build lasting relationships with families, and champion the highest standards of NYS OCFS compliance.

🔑 Key Responsibilities
- NYS OCFS Compliance — Act as the named Director on the center’s operating license, ensuring 100% compliance with state and local regulations.
- Talent Acquisition — Perform interviews and hire qualified early childhood educators who match our center's high standards.
- Team Leadership & Development — Train, mentor, and inspire staff; audit and track completion of mandatory OCFS 30-hour training blocks.
- Workforce Management — Directly manage the scheduling and daily attendance of all center employees to maintain proper classroom ratios.
- Financial Administration — Execute monthly parent billing through ProCare and ensure accurate, timely bi-weekly payroll submission.
- Operations & Enrollment — Oversee day-to-day center operations, manage enrollment pipelines, and host facility tours for prospective families.
- Parent Partnerships — Maintain open, warm, and professional communication with families regarding their child’s development and milestones.
🎓 Target Credentials & OCFS Qualifications
To legally qualify for the OCFS Director status at this location, candidates must meet one of the following four qualification pathways:

Option 1: Bachelor’s Degree Includes at least 12 credits in early childhood, child development, or a related field. | 1 year full-time teaching experience in a child care setting AND 1 year supervising staff in child care or related work. |
Option 2: NYS CPAC New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential. | 1 year full-time teaching experience in a child care setting AND 1 year supervising staff. |
Option 3: Associate’s Degree In early childhood/related field with an active plan of study toward a Bachelor’s or CPAC. | 2 years full-time teaching experience AND 2 years supervising staff. |
Option 4: CDA or Recognized Credential With an active plan of study toward either a Bachelor’s degree or CPAC. | 2 years full-time teaching experience AND 2 years supervising staff. |
📋 Additional Compliance & Commute Requirements
- Proven Leadership - Must possess at least 1+ years of experience as a Director or Assistant Director, specifically within a childcare, early childhood education, or highly relevant setting.
- 🛠️ Health & Safety Training — Must complete the OCFS Health and Safety Competencies for Directors upon hire.
- 💊 Certifications — Valid Medication Administration Training (MAT) and Pediatric CPR/First Aid are highly preferred before hire. Candidates willing to complete these certifications immediately after hire are welcome to apply and will be accepted for consideration!
- 🔍 Background Clearances — Must pass comprehensive OCFS Background Clearance (CBC) fingerprinting, Statewide Central Register (SCR), and Staff Exclusion List (SEL) checks.
- 🚗 Commute Note — Candidates must have a reliable, stress-free daily commute to Purchase, NY, to ensure prompt center opening and operational coverage (long-distance commutes or heavy reliance on disconnected public transit networks will not be considered).
