The Mission:As an Exterior Takeoff Specialist, your primary objective will be compiling an accurate material list on siding, soffit, roofing, and decking for clients using computer software. You are responsible for interpreting project plans to accurately and efficiently quote projects. As an Exterior Takeoff Specialist you ensure that our commitment to the builder is executed flawlessly, providing on-time and accurate estimates for exterior bids.
Defining the Role:- Plan Review & Material Estimation (Takeoffs): Review construction blueprints and plans to generate accurate, highly detailed material lists based on a specific scope of work, serving as a critical guide for accurate product selection.
- Technical Self-Sufficiency: Demonstrate high technical adaptability by independently navigating software platforms. The role requires immediate self-sufficiency with zero foundational training provided for basic computer skills.
- Internal Team Collaboration: Maintain clear, ongoing, and proactive communication with sales personnel and the broader internal team to clarify technical takeoff details, resolve plan ambiguities, and align on project scopes.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Participate actively in a boot camp-style, team-wide onboarding process and remain collaborative with related divisions to ensure cohesive estimations.
Performance is measured by your direct impact on estimation accuracy, operational throughput, and team-wide communication efficiency:
Technical Skill Proficiency: Maintaining proficiency regarding technical execution, software utilization, and basic mathematics, resulting in zero foundational training dependencies.
Estimation Accuracy & Detail: Minimizing material list errors or omissions through strict attention to detail, directly preventing costly field-level shortages or product overruns.
