Job Description

PRN Infusion RN

Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in this designated specialty area in support of Platte Valley Medical Group and Kearney Regional Medical Center. Works collaboratively with physicians, and other health care providers to provide quality care and service across the continuum. Provides patient centered and professional education to patient and families.

1. *Commits to the KRMC mission, vision, values and goals and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. Provides technical nursing care through interviews, assessments and vital signs.

3. *Administers medications topically, orally, injection or intravenous as ordered by the physician.

4. Administers treatments within his/her scope of practice as ordered by the physician.

5. Documents patient care and related information in the EMR.

6. Engages in department specific and organizational performance improvement initiatives.

7. Evaluates patient’s progress toward established outcomes.

8. Evaluates the patient’s response to and effectivess of interventions.

9. Obtains prior authorizations.

10. Participates in obtaining and meeting quality measures.

11. *Maintains a clean, safe patient environment. Monitors equipment to be sure it is in proper working condition.

12. *Answers telephone. Responds to patient concerns or questions and intervenes to solve patient problems.

13. *Maintains appropriate records and assists with coding and patient charges.

14. *Collects and properly disposes of selected specimens.

15. Provides appropriate education to patients/families.

16. Cooperates with other personnel to maintain good employee and public relations.

17. Informs supervisor or manager of concerns or problems.

18. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Must provide evidence of certification and/or instruction for practice area as required by State or Federal standards/regulations.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.
