HR Generalist in Winston Salem, North Carolina at Hanes Companies

Human Resources Generalist
Hanes Companies, Inc., a division of Leggett & Platt, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist in Winston-Salem, NC. With more than 50 locations across North America, Hanes Companies is a leading distributor and converter of industrial textiles, environmentally friendly geosynthetics, erosion-control products, and stabilization products used in the construction industry. This role will serve as a trusted HR partner to employees and leaders, with an active presence on the plant floor and responsibility for supporting a broad range of human resources functions.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers at the Winston-Salem facility and assigned branch locations.
• Build strong relationships with plant leadership and employees to help foster a positive, productive work environment.
• Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
• Facilitate new-hire orientation and coordinate onboarding for employees and temporary workers.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, corrective action, attendance concerns, and policy interpretation.
• Support the administration of FMLA, leaves of absence, workers' compensation, employee benefits, and employee engagement programs.
• Assist managers with coaching, conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and documentation of employee matters.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HRIS data.
• Support HR reporting, workforce planning, and broader organizational initiatives.
• Participate in safety programs, training efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
• Partner with leadership to strengthen retention, employee development, and workplace culture.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of employment laws, employee relations, benefits administration, FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation.
• Experience supporting performance management and conducting employee investigations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to build relationships and influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and human resources information systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality.
