Reporting to our Director of Special Services, you’ll play a key role in advancing our vision for smarter, more sustainable buildings.

What You’ll Do:

• Review owner requirements, design documents, equipment submittals, and operating sequences for electrical system performance, maintainability, and testability.
• Develop commissioning plans, installation verification checklists, and functional performance test procedures.
• Conduct site observations to verify installation readiness and identify deficiencies before testing.
• Coordinate and lead functional performance testing, including normal operation, loss of utility power, emergency power transfer and retransfer, alarms, and system recovery.
• Coordinate and witness contractor and manufacturer startup and acceptance testing; review test reports for compliance with project requirements.
• Verify operation of power distribution equipment, generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, lighting controls, electrical metering, and associated controls interfaces.
• Coordinate verification of fire alarm and life safety system interfaces with responsible contractors and project team members.
• Maintain commissioning issues logs, communicate corrective actions, and verify resolution through follow-up inspections and retesting.
• Prepare test reports and final commissioning reports and verify completion of required owner training and operating documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate testing schedules, outages, and site activities with owners and contractors.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, relevant technical education or apprenticeship training, or an equivalent combination of electrical field experience and education.
• Five or more years of experience in electrical commissioning, electrical testing, field engineering, electrical construction, or a related technical role.
• Ability to interpret electrical one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, equipment submittals, specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Working knowledge of power distribution equipment, generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, lighting controls, fire alarm interfaces, and electrical metering.
• Experience developing or following test procedures, troubleshooting system operation, and documenting test results and deficiencies.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices, including lockout/tagout, arc-flash hazard awareness, and coordination of safe testing activities.
• Strong technical writing, organization, communication, and client coordination skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF review tools such as Bluebeam, and electronic field documentation.
• A nationally recognized commissioning certification is preferred. Candidates without certification should be willing to pursue an appropriate credential with company support.
• Healthcare, laboratory, commercial, education, or government project experience is preferred. LEED accreditation is a plus.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25–50%, including overnight travel as project needs require.
• Ability to perform field duties, including lifting up to 25 pounds, standing, squatting, and climbing, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Remote candidates are welcome. This position requires regular travel to project sites and close coordination with the Lead Commissioning Agent and project teams.
