Shipping/Receiving Specialist in Murphys, California at Insight Manufacturing S

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Shipping/Receiving Specialist to join our growing team. This position requires strong organizational skills, a hands-on attitude, and a willingness to learn both shipping/receiving and silk screening operations. Under direct supervision, you will inspect, verify, prepare, and document shipments, and maintain accurate inventory records. You will also assist with silk screen printing operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving:

• Inspect and compare incoming/outgoing shipments with documentation (invoices, POs, work orders, etc.).
• Pack, seal, and label shipments properly using spacers, fillers, and protective materials.
• Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records and inventory systems.
• Notify appropriate personnel of discrepancies, damages, or quality concerns.
• Use forklifts, scales, and basic hand tools to assist with handling materials.

Inventory & Documentation:

• Perform regular cycle counts.
• Enter and maintain data in computer systems and spreadsheets.
• Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

Silk Screening:

• Set up and operate silk screen machines to apply prints on various surfaces.
• Mix inks, prepare materials, and ensure consistent quality and print alignment.
• Clean and maintain silk screen equipment and work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations preferred.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with using shipping systems, computers, and MS Office software.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a loud, industrial environment.

Physical & Environmental Conditions

• Standing, walking, bending, and lifting regularly required.
• Exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, and varying indoor temperatures.
• Must wear safety glasses and masks in designated areas.
