Direct Support Professional
City: Oskaloosa, IA · Type: Part-time · Openings: 2 · Pay field: $13 to $16 per hour
Work two or three 12-hour shifts a week and keep the rest of the week for yourself. We have two part-time Direct Support Professional openings at one of our Oskaloosa homes, one on days and one on nights. You'll support adults with disabilities in a home setting, with time to build real relationships over long, unhurried shifts.
Shifts available
• Days: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Week 1 is Thursday and Friday; Week 2 is Monday and Friday. About 24 hours a week
• Nights: 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Week 1 is Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday; Week 2 is Monday and Tuesday. Between 24 and 36 hours a week
• Both schedules repeat on a two-week rotation
What you'll do
• Support meals, personal care, activities, and household routines on a 12-hour shift
• Keep the home calm, safe, and comfortable, including overnight on the night shift
• Document the shift and hand off clearly to the next team member
What you'll bring
• Stamina for long shifts, plus patience and dependability
• The ability to pass background checks
• High school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license]
Pay: $13 to $16 per hour.

Requirements:Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school education or equivalent; experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
- Must possess bask knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.
- Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries.
- Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions.
- Successfully complete all new hire orientation checklist.
- Satisfactory attend all required trainings by agency.
- Successfully complete the established medication administration training and observe pass medications accordingly.
- Must have access to a telephone.
- Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company’s insurance.
