Position: Vehicle-Operated Waste Collection & General Cleaner | Full-Time – Rotating Shifts
Pay Rate: $16.25

Schedule: Three days on the 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) and two days on the 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
Days Off: Two days per week, based on operational needs
Location: Orlando International Airport (MCO) – Parking Garages

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable and safety-conscious Driver / General Cleaner to join our team at the Orlando International Airport parking garages. This position combines driving responsibilities with general cleaning duties to maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the parking facilities.

The employee will operate a company vehicle to collect and transport garbage from different levels of the parking garages to designated disposal areas. When not performing driving and garbage collection duties, the employee will be responsible for completing regular cleaning tasks throughout the facility.

Candidates must have a clean driving record and meet the company's driver eligibility requirements to qualify for approval under the company’s vehicle insurance policy.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a company vehicle safely to collect and transport garbage from different levels of the parking garages.
• Collect, remove, and dispose of garbage and debris in designated disposal areas.
• Follow designated routes and procedures for garbage collection throughout the parking facility.
• Perform regular general cleaning duties when not assigned to driving and garbage collection tasks.
• Sweep and clean parking garage floors, ramps, stairwells, and walkways.
• Empty trash containers and replace liners as needed.
• Remove litter, spills, and debris from assigned areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies as needed.
• Clean elevators, entrances, exits, payment areas, and other high-traffic areas.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and properly.
• Assist with pressure washing and other cleaning projects when needed.
• Conduct basic visual checks of the assigned company vehicle and report any damage, maintenance concerns, or safety issues.
• Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, and damaged equipment to the supervisor.
• Follow all company, airport, and vehicle safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain professional conduct when interacting with airport personnel, tenants, and the public.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must meet company insurance requirements and be eligible to operate a company vehicle.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle in parking garages and around pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Previous janitorial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
• Previous driving, delivery, or garbage collection experience is a plus.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to follow driving routes, instructions, and established procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work both morning and afternoon shifts according to the assigned schedule.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, push, and pull throughout the shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and garbage collection tasks.
• Ability to enter and exit the company vehicle frequently throughout the workday.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work safely around moving vehicles, pedestrians, and active parking garage operations.

Airport Security / GOAA Badge Requirement

Because this position is located at Orlando International Airport (MCO), candidates must successfully complete the required airport background screening, including a 10-year background history review, and meet all requirements to obtain and maintain a GOAA security badge.

Employment is contingent upon successfully meeting all applicable airport security requirements.

Schedule & Attendance

Morning Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (3 days per week)
Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (2 days per week)
Total Schedule: 5 days per week
Days Off: 2 days per week, based on operational needs
Weekend Work: Required as assigned

The employee must be available to work both shifts according to the established schedule. Consistent attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and adherence to all driving and cleaning responsibilities are required.

Driving and Insurance Requirements

Operating a company vehicle is an essential responsibility of this position. Before being authorized to drive, the selected candidate must meet all applicable company driving standards and insurance eligibility requirements, including verification of driving record and valid licensing.

Candidates who do not meet the company's vehicle insurance requirements will not be authorized to operate a company vehicle.
