Senior Project Manager – Commercial & Community Sectors

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager who can confidently lead projects from programming through construction administration. This Senior Project Manager is a senior leader responsible for the strategic oversight and delivery of the firm’s most complex, high-profile, or high-risk projects.

This role is responsible for guiding project teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring successful project delivery from start to finish, while working alongside a talented and collaborative team. An ideal candidate values technical excellence, enjoys building lasting client partnerships, and is motivated by complex and rewarding challenges. This role ensures excellence across design integrity, schedule, budget, profitability, and client experience.

Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead multiple complex projects from programming through construction administration.
  • Establish project delivery strategy, staffing, and execution plans.
  • Ensure alignment of scope, schedule, budget, profitability, and design intent.
  • Anticipate and resolve project risks and complex issues.
Client Leadership & Business Development
  • Serve as the senior client advisor and primary relationship manager.
  • Lead negotiations, resolve critical issues, and cultivate long-term client partnerships.
  • Identify repeat work opportunities and actively support business development through networking and professional involvement.
Design & Technical Oversight
  • Champion design quality in collaboration with design leadership.
  • Oversee quality control, milestone reviews, consultant coordination, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
  • Ensure successful project closeout, including punch lists and final deliverables.
Financial & Operational Management
  • Manage project staffing, resources, fees, profitability, billing, and scope changes.
  • Partner with the Principal-in-Charge on contracts, risk management, and financial performance.
  • Support operational improvements, staffing strategy, and workload planning.
Team Leadership
  • Mentor Project Managers and emerging professionals through coaching, delegation, and accountability.
  • Foster collaboration, high performance, and professional growth across project teams.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Licensed Architect in Texas
  • 8-12 years of experience
  • Strong experience in commercial and community projects is a must
  • Proven ability to lead consultant coordination across multiple trades
  • Effective communication skills to allow for engaging collaboration with clients, consultants, and project teams
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to balance design quality with project execution
  • Proficient in AutoDesk (Revit, CAD, Forma), Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience mentoring emerging professionals

Pay and Benefits

  • Salary – $95,000 to $120,000 for senior level
