Job Description:

Assist in the preparation of Cytology specimens, including receiving, accessioning specimens into the Cytology computer system and evaluating specimen integrity. Inform immediate supervisor or Pathologist of unacceptable or questionable specimens. Assist physicians in obtaining and preparing fine needle aspirates.

Required Skills:

1. Ability to use/learn Personal Computer programs (D-BASE).
2. Must be effective in both written and oral communication and possess working knowledge of English grammar and punctuation.
3. Must be detail oriented and consistent.

Required Experience:

A. Work Experience:
One year recent experience in a clinical cytology laboratory setting preferred.

B. License/Registration/Certification:
Not Required

C. Education and Training:
High school graduate or equivalent. Post High School courses in Biology and Chemistry preferred.
