Job Description
The Security Analyst (PERSEC) provides comprehensive personnel security support for Special Access Programs (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and other classified programs. This position serves as a trusted advisor to government and organizational leadership by administering personnel security processes, managing access requirements, safeguarding classified information, and ensuring compliance with applicable security policies and customer requirements.
Working closely with program managers, security professionals, government representatives, and mission partners, the Security Analyst supports the full personnel security lifecycle while contributing to broader program security operations, process improvements, security education, and continuous compliance initiatives. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, customer service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced classified environment.
Responsibilities:
• Administer personnel security activities supporting Special Access Programs (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), collateral, and other classified programs.
• Process, coordinate, and maintain Program Access Requests (PARs), Visitor Access Requests (VARs), nomination packages, indoctrinations, debriefings, and other personnel security documentation.
• Maintain personnel security records while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and protection of sensitive information throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Review, validate, and monitor personnel eligibility, access authorizations, and clearance documentation in accordance with customer requirements.
• Coordinate with government customers, program leadership, security offices, human resources, and external stakeholders to resolve personnel security issues and facilitate timely access decisions.
• Provide daily customer support by responding to personnel security inquiries, interpreting security requirements, and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Prepare executive-level reports, metrics, briefings, and status updates related to personnel security operations and program readiness.
• Support classified document accountability, storage, transmission, inventory, archival, and destruction activities in accordance with applicable security policies.
• Conduct internal security reviews, self-inspections, audits, and compliance assessments while identifying opportunities for corrective action and process improvement.
• Develop, maintain, and update security procedures, operating instructions, and documentation supporting personnel security operations.
• Deliver Security Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) briefings and provide ongoing guidance regarding security responsibilities and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with physical security, information security, cybersecurity, and facility security personnel to ensure integrated program security support.
• Recommend and implement improvements that enhance operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, customer service, and security program effectiveness.
• Support additional security disciplines, including physical security, information security, industrial security, and operations security, as mission requirements dictate.
Required Qualifications:
• Active TS/SCI with current CI Poly
• 7+ years experience in the following areas:
o Supporting personnel security within SAP classified environments.
o Processing personnel security documentation, access requests, visitor control, and classified program administration.
o Interpreting and applying government security policies, procedures, and customer requirements.
o Maintaining sensitive records, preparing reports, and supporting executive leadership.
• Strong customer service, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to independently prioritize multiple competing tasks while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and common personnel security databases and access management systems.
Education & Experience:
One of the following is required:
• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Intelligence Studies, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field; OR
• Associate degree with additional relevant experience; OR
• Successful completion of military, government, or industry security training and certifications with progressively responsible experience supporting classified security programs; OR
• An equivalent combination of education, formal training, certifications, and directly related professional experience.
Relevant security certifications, specialized training, and demonstrated experience administering classified personnel security programs may be substituted for a formal degree.
