Position Summary
This position is responsible for all company accounting-related activities, including accounts payable, purchasing, vendor management, treasury, financial reporting, and financial planning
The accounting needs to be performed on the growing integrated healthcare organization, realty companies, holding companies, and individual operating companies. Currently accounting is required for 7 ongoing individual companies. Minimal assistance with closing a number of recently sold clinic operations will be requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The controller is responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions are reported accurately, and on a timely basis.
- Compiling periodic (monthly)financial statements, and data used in the preparation of financial analyst.
- Preparing account variance analyses, using the analysis to identify unfavorable expense trends, and cost savings. Performing monthly accounts reconciliations.
- Driving a monthly close process by creating a closing schedule, a list of closing tasks, and creating and distributing all financial statements.
- Establishing a documented framework of internal financial controls, ensuring the controls are understood by all employees, and regularly testing and documenting compliance with such controls.
- Working in tandem with our external tax preparer in the
- 1) preparation of draft and final K-1 statements and in
- 2) estimating taxable income.
- The role will also be primary contact with all external auditing groups and activities, and will be responsible for ensuring the audits are completed on a timely basis
- Working in tandem with the VP of Finance in the management/monitoring of cash and cash usage.
- Develop plans and objectives regarding short- and long-range accounting programs in specific areas, including budgeting, profit analysis, accounting systems, reporting, and operational improvements
Skills/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
CPA certification.
3+ years of financial management experience.
Sage Intacct experience is plus
Public accounting experience a plus.
Healthcare and/or Real Estate experience is preferred.
