Job Description
Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and patient-focused Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our growing Urology team. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with our board-certified urologists to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients with acute and chronic urological conditions. This role includes evaluating patients, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, developing treatment plans, performing in-office procedures, educating patients, and coordinating care to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including obtaining medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and documenting findings in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of urological conditions under established protocols and collaborative practice agreements.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, diagnostic testing, and evidence-based guidelines.
- Order, interpret, and review laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with Florida licensure and organizational policies.
- Provide follow-up care for patients with kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary tract infections (UTIs), overactive bladder, urinary retention, incontinence, elevated PSA, hematuria, erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism, and other urological conditions.
- Perform and assist with office-based procedures within the scope of practice, including catheter placement and removal, bladder instillations, voiding trials, postoperative evaluations, and other urologic procedures as appropriate.
- Assist physicians with cystoscopies, prostate biopsies, vasectomy consultations and follow-up care, and additional in-office procedures as needed.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, lifestyle modifications, surgical preparation, and post-procedure care.
- Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, hospitals, imaging centers, laboratories, and ancillary healthcare providers.
- Review pathology reports, laboratory results, imaging studies, and communicate provider recommendations to patients.
- Respond to patient questions, portal messages, and telephone triage requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to provide exceptional patient care.
- Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based urology practices through continuing education and professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Current Florida licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP).
- Current DEA registration and Florida prescriptive authority.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.
- Previous experience in Urology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or another related specialty is highly preferred.
- Excellent assessment, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient education skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity required to perform clinical procedures and operate medical equipment.
- Ability to bend, reach, and assist patients safely as needed.
