This role is an opportunity for an accomplished sales professional to drive growth, profitability, and retention across an assigned commercial insurance territory.
You will manage a substantial portfolio, develop new business opportunities, and build high-value relationships with agency partners.
The position combines strategic territory planning, consultative selling, data analysis, and relationship management to deliver measurable financial results.
You will serve as a trusted point of contact for agencies, helping them understand products, platforms, services, and commercial eligibility guidelines.
By analyzing market trends and territory performance, you will identify opportunities, develop action plans, and influence agency behavior toward shared goals.
The role also involves collaboration with internal teams, virtual training, competitive intelligence, and ongoing development of agency capabilities.

- Drive growth, business mix, retention, and profitability across an assigned commercial territory and agency portfolio valued at $25M or more in written premium.
- Motivate and inspire assigned agencies to achieve new business, retention, profitability, and strategic performance objectives.
- Develop territory sales plans and conduct effective virtual sales calls to generate the new business required to meet financial and activity targets.
- Build a consistent pipeline of new business opportunities aligned with commercial product offerings, appetite, and eligibility requirements.
- Develop strong expertise in commercial insurance products, platforms, and services to provide effective solutions and guidance to agency partners.
- Strategically leverage financial incentives, rewards campaigns, contingency programs, and other initiatives to influence agency performance and achieve business objectives.
- Analyze territory sales data, performance reports, and business trends to identify growth opportunities, performance gaps, and areas for improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned agencies, facilitating effective communication and coordination with internal teams.
- Implement segmentation strategies across the assigned agency portfolio to maximize visibility and prioritize high-value opportunities.
- Identify individual agency opportunities and collaboratively develop action plans designed to improve growth, retention, profitability, and overall performance.
- Gather competitive intelligence and monitor industry trends, market conditions, service levels, and program effectiveness, providing actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate with internal business partners to resolve issues, improve processes, and deliver a positive agency and customer experience.
- Facilitate virtual training sessions and support agencies in maintaining strong product, process, and industry knowledge.
- Contribute to special projects, subject matter expertise, and initiatives that strengthen team performance and agency capabilities.
- Travel approximately 5% by automobile and/or airline for agency meetings, company meetings, events, and other business activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 5–8 years of experience in sales and marketing, or equivalent experience within the insurance industry.
- 4+ years of experience managing growth and profitability for a commercial insurance portfolio.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance sales, portfolio management, agency relationships, and business development.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and influence agency partners and colleagues.
- Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to interpret complex reports, evaluate territory performance, and translate data into actionable strategies.
- Excellent organization, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business productivity tools.
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills, with the ability to resolve issues constructively and communicate policies and technical guidance effectively.
- Ability to facilitate virtual training sessions and communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and contributing to special projects and subject matter expert initiatives.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 5% as required.

- Competitive base compensation with a target range of $62,860–$142,213, depending on geographic location, experience, skills, and qualifications.
- California hiring range of approximately $98,568.90–$120,473.10.
