We are a private equity-backed clinical research site network conducting Phase I-IV industry-sponsored clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas. Our organization operates five wholly owned research sites and three embedded research sites through a joint venture partnership.
As we continue building a scalable, high-performing organization, we are seeking a Vice President of Finance to partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to strengthen our financial infrastructure, improve operational performance, and help drive the next phase of growth.

Position Summary
The Vice President of Finance is a strategic and operational finance leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s finance function while serving as a trusted business partner to the CEO.
This role extends well beyond traditional financial reporting. The successful candidate will immerse themselves in the business, develop a deep understanding of clinical research operations, and build scalable financial processes that improve visibility, strengthen controls, optimize cash flow, and eliminate revenue leakage.
The ideal candidate understands that in healthcare services, financial performance is created through operational excellence.
This position requires an individual who is equally comfortable developing long-term financial strategy, partnering with private equity ownership, leading audits, managing lender relationships, improving internal controls, and rolling up their sleeves to solve operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
- Lead all accounting and finance functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, treasury, and financial planning and analysis.
- Deliver timely, accurate monthly financial statements and management reporting.
- Develop financial models and operational analyses that support executive decision making.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, controls, and reporting.
Business Partnership
- Serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to the CEO.
- Partner closely with Operations to ensure financial processes accurately reflect operational activity.
- Develop meaningful KPIs and dashboards that connect operational performance to financial outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and scalability.
Revenue Cycle & Operational Finance
- Develop a deep understanding of clinical trial operations, study lifecycles, and revenue recognition.
- Learn and leverage the company’s Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS/CTMA) as a critical operational and financial tool.
- Build processes that improve billing accuracy, study reconciliation, collections, and sponsor invoicing.
- Partner with Operations to minimize revenue leakage and improve cash conversion.
- Strengthen controls around study closeout, invoicing deadlines, and revenue capture.
Private Equity, Banking & External Relationships
- Serve as the primary finance contact for private equity ownership.
- Prepare Board reporting, financial analyses, and investor materials.
- Manage banking relationships, including revolving credit facilities and cash management.
- Lead annual audits and coordinate relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service providers.
- Support lender reporting and covenant compliance.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance organization.
- Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Evaluate systems, workflows, and organizational structure to support future growth.
- Recruit and develop high-performing finance talent as the organization scales.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
- Experience leading finance within a multi-site healthcare services or similarly complex operating environment.
- Strong background in financial planning and analysis, accounting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Experience partnering directly with executive leadership.
- Demonstrated success improving financial processes, controls, and operational performance.
Preferred
- Private equity-backed company experience.
- Clinical research, healthcare services, physician practice management, or other healthcare operating experience.
- Experience supporting rapid organizational growth and value creation initiatives.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
