Director of Nursing (DON)

Pay: $90,000 – $104,000 per year
Location: Madisonville KY

We are a well‑established skilled nursing facility in Western Kentucky seeking a Director of Nursing who is committed to high‑quality, resident‑centered care. Our facility is entering a period of positive improvements with strengthened systems, enhanced clinical support, and a renewed focus on quality, consistency, and accountability.

We are looking for a DON who leads with compassion, sets clear expectations, supports staff, and prioritizes excellence in every aspect of resident care.

Position Overview

The Director of Nursing oversees all nursing services and ensures residents receive safe, consistent, and compassionate care. You will join a supportive administrative team invested in quality outcomes, staff development, and creating a strong, dependable care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all nursing services within the skilled nursing facility
• Maintain the highest standards of clinical quality and resident safety
• Support, guide, and develop nursing staff and nurse managers
• Ensure compliance with state and federal long‑term care regulations
• Review incidents promptly and ensure appropriate follow‑up
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Prepare for and participate in state inspections
• Ensure proper staffing, training, and documentation
• Serve as a visible, supportive leader focused on care excellence

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Prior DON or ADON experience preferred
• Skilled nursing/long‑term care experience required
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and make sound clinical decisions
• Commitment to high‑quality resident care and staff support
