Position Overview:The Internet Director is responsible for overseeing all internet sales operations, lead management, and digital customer engagement strategies. This role manages a team of internet sales professionals and works closely with the sales, finance, and marketing departments to optimize online lead conversion, improve customer experiences, and maximize dealership profitability.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and manage the internet sales department and online business development processes
- Develop and implement effective lead management, follow-up, and conversion strategies
- Track, analyze, and report on internet sales performance metrics, lead response times, and closing ratios
- Work with the marketing team to optimize online advertising, website content, and digital marketing strategies
- Ensure timely and professional responses to all online leads and inquiries
- Train, coach, and motivate the internet sales team to achieve individual and department sales goals
- Manage third-party lead providers and CRM/BDC software platforms
- Collaborate with the sales and finance teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from online inquiry to vehicle delivery
- Maintain high standards for customer satisfaction, communication, and transparency
- Stay current on digital retail trends, technology, and lead generation tools
- Minimum 3–5 years of automotive internet sales management or BDC management experience
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding internet sales department goals
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills
- In-depth knowledge of CRM systems, digital marketing strategies, and online lead management best practices
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Highly motivated, results-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced, competitive environment
- Proficient with automotive sales software, internet lead platforms, and dealership management systems (DMS)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
- Authorized to work in the United States
