About the Job

The JCC Maccabi Games® are an annual, Olympic-style athletic competition for Jewish teenagers aged 13 to 17. It is the largest organized Jewish youth sporting event in the world, and Shalom Austin will be hosting the Games in Austin, Texas in July 2027.

The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in the creation and support of successful marketing campaigns for the JCC Maccabi Games® as we promote and prepare for the Games in Austin. This position will also support marketing for the Dell Jewish Community Center (Dell JCC) as needed, including the Health & Wellness, Membership, and Youth & Teen departments.

This position is responsible for designing and producing high-quality marketing materials across print and digital channels while supporting broader marketing initiatives that promote engagement, participation, and community impact.

This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented designer and marketer who is energized by mission-driven work in a fast-paced environment in the non-profit industry.

You’ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:

  • Design and produce marketing materials for print and digital use, including flyers, posters, social media graphics, email graphics, digital signage, presentations, and ads.
  • Ensure all materials align with brand guidelines while remaining fresh, accessible, and engaging.
  • Adapt and resize assets for multiple platforms and audiences.
  • Maintain and organize design files and templates for ongoing use.
  • Develop and implement social media marketing strategies and ad campaigns, in coordination with program teams to promote the JCC Maccabi Games as well as health and wellness as needed.
  • Manage the JCC Maccabi Games in Austin’s digital presence, including social media accounts, website content, and online campaigns.
  • Assist with the execution of marketing campaigns to promote a large-scale community event and related programs.
  • Assist with photography, videography, and content collection before, during, and after events.
  • Coordinate marketing requests and maintain organized project documentation.
  • Draft and schedule social media posts, email communications, and other marketing content.
  • Assist with event promotion through visual assets, and on-site marketing functions.
  • Report basic metrics and tracking of marketing campaign performance.
  • Manage multiple design requests and deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Help uphold and evolve visual brand standards.
  • Perform general marketing and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Possess an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, advertising, communications or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience successfully serving in a marketing, communications, graphic design, or related function, preferable in the non-profit or association sectors
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in social media and digital marketing tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills to measure and optimize marketing performance.
  • Creativity and strategic thinking to develop innovative marketing approaches.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in all marketing materials
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment
  • Passion for non-profit work and a commitment to supporting social services initiatives
  • Proficient in MAC operating systems and Microsoft software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Proficient in web editing software such as Word Press
  • Knowledge in project management tools such as Monday.com
  • Photography and Videography experience
  • General print and signage knowledge
  • Pass all required criminal history background checks (which may, depending on the position you are hired for, include an FBI fingerprint check).

Additional Information

Work environment: Work onsite in the Shalom Austin office

Physical demands: The physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving

Position type and expected hours of work: Part-time position, specific hours to be determined between Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM, additional weekday and weekend hours required to complete project deadlines and attend community events (as-needed).

Travel: up to 5% (offsite events and programs)

Required education and experience: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or equivalent; Minimum of 1-2 years of experience successfully serving in a marketing communications or related function, preferable in the non-profit, association and/or fitness and wellness sectors
