Position Summary
Join a dynamic and innovative team as a Registered Nurse specializing in NASA Occupational Health Services (OHS). In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive healthcare services tailored to the unique needs of NASA personnel, ensuring optimal health, safety, and well-being. Your expertise will support mission-critical operations by providing high-quality clinical care, health assessments, and health education within a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply advanced nursing skills in a cutting-edge aerospace setting while making a meaningful impact on the health of our nation's space explorers.
Core Responsibilities
- Provides a range of nursing services, including preventive health care counseling
- Coordinates health care needs and makes referrals to medical specialists
- Required to perform audiometric hearing exams
- Assesses and treats minor health problems
- Administers emergency treatment
- Performs advanced cardiac life support
- Performs limited portions of physical examinations
- Performs audiometric examination
- Pulmonary function testing
- Perform medical evaluations and provide treatments for occupational medical injuries and illnesses within scope of contract effort
- Perform computer medical data entry: patient visits, treatments and services administered, medical chair/records documentation
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a RN in a occupational health or aerospace setting.
- Basic Life Support (certified by the American Heart Association).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (certified by the American Heart Association).
- RN Nursing License (State of California).
- Certified by the CAOHC (Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation)
- Completion of the NIOSH (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Heath) Spirometry Course.
Final compensation will be based on relevant factors including work experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
