Impact of the Role

General Profile
  • Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
  • Works with close supervision
  • Performs manual tasks according to established procedures


Essential Functions

  • Supports the engineering design and development of electrical control and automation systems and devices.
  • Provides setup, configuration, troubleshooting and repair of electrical control systems and prototypes.
  • Assists with testing of systems, devices, and instruments.
  • Documents testing procedures, and measures and records performance results following established methods.
  • Maintains the inventory of supplies and tools used for testing and maintenance.


Required Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Electronic Equipment Installation. Engineering Support. Laboratory Supply Management. Performance Analysis. Technical Troubleshooting. Testing Result Reporting. Control Systems. Electro-Mechanical Components/Instruments. Test Documentation. Equipment Repairs. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.

Pay Range (USD)

$47,090.00 - $63,710.00

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
