Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting aerospace components and mechanical systems according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience using hand and power tools, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining strict safety and quality requirements.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble aerospace components, subassemblies, and mechanical systems according to blueprints, work instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, measuring instruments, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Perform mechanical fitting, drilling, fastening, riveting, and hardware installation.
  • Conduct inspections and verify parts meet quality and tolerance requirements.
  • Identify and report defective materials, assembly issues, or process concerns.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Follow all aerospace safety standards, company procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain organized work areas.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet deadlines and production goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous mechanical assembly or aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace or aviation industry experience.
  • IPC, soldering, or aerospace assembly certifications.
  • Experience working in a clean room or FAA-regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices.
