Job Description
With over 60 years of service to the community as the premier imaging center in Tallahassee, we continue to grow and thrive. We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist to join our growing team. This is a full time, benefits eligible position with daytime hours and no weekends.
The salary range is $38-$50 per hour.
This position includes:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates patient exams to maintain workflow.
- Assists in scheduling patient exams
- Order, prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Acquires and processes diagnostic imaging procedure records radiopharmaceutical administration to patients. Records patient history and information pertinent to the exam.
- Receives and records appropriate information regarding receipt and disposal of radioactive materials and pharmaceuticals.
- Requests and coordinates all necessary patient information including medical history, physician orders, and insurance authorization.
- Performs and documents quality assurance procedures on the equipment in a timely manner as defined by the State and in the procedure manual.
- Ensures compliance with the radioactive materials licensure requirements and maintains adequate documentation for inspection by the State and/or Physicist.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an AMA approved school of nuclear medicine technology.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year experience in nuclear medicine.
REQUIREMENTS: Registered by either the ARRT or NMTCB and state license
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of nuclear medicine/PET CT technical principles and procedures.
Knowledge of quality care standards for nuclear medicine/PET CT.
Knowledge of safety requirements for staff, patients and visitors.
SKILLS:
Skill in injecting radiopharmaceuticals intravenously for imaging procedures.
Skill in using computer network system competently to process patient and department information.
Skill in assuming responsibility for safety factors.
ABILITIES:
Ability to work in a cooperative nature within and outside department with staff, patients and families.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to explain procedures clearly and simply to patients.
Ability to anticipate patient needs for comfort and safety.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet schedule needs.
