Student- Cardiovascular Center
Description:
Must have good basic understanding of cardiac /vascular anatomy & physiology, pathophysiology, basic arrhythmias, and vascular hemodynamics
Accuracy, precision, and attention to detail is essential to job performance
Must have sound knowledge and good use of communication skills, both written and oral
Must be able to perform basic computer skills
Ability to function efficiently and calmly in stressful situations; ability to be able to take direction from those in authority, and to work independently
Assumes responsibility and initiative for planning and time management, under the supervision of a qualified cardiovascular sonographer
Assumes responsibility for implementation of organizational skills to allow for accuracy, precision, and attention to detail under the supervision of a qualified cardiovascular sonographer and/or has been checked off for these skills
Assumes responsibility for appropriate utilization of department resources and marketing activities under the supervision of a qualified cardiovascular sonographer and/or has been checked off for these skills
Provides an effective high standard of care and assumes the responsibility for the safety and mental and physicals comfort for all age groups under the supervision of a qualified cardiovascular sonographer
Assumes responsibility for all aspects of the technical duties for the Cardiovascular Department under the supervision of a qualified cardiovascular sonographer and/or has been checked off for these skills
Assumes responsibility for all aspects of ancillary duties of the Cardiovascular Center under the supervision of a qualified cardiovascular sonographer and/or has been checked off for these skills
Education/Experience:
A graduate of a baccalaureate academic program in any field, or received a diploma in an associate program in health science (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy or nursing) or Must be eligible to take the Registry exam as administered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or the Association of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within the first 18 months of employment
Required to obtain BLS within 6 months of employment, and must be able to pass the basic arrhythmia class within 6 months of employment
Experience preferred but recent graduate acceptable
