Procurement Director

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, Salary

Reports to: VP Supply Chain Integration

Supervisory Responsibility: Buyers and Senior Buyers

Location: Jacksonville, FL or Dallas, TX

Summary Objective

The Procurement Director is responsible for leading sourcing and procurement operations across Stellar Energy manufacturing and project operations. This role oversees strategic sourcing, supplier management, commodity purchasing, and procurement process execution while ensuring alignment with project schedules, cost objectives, and operational requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and manage Buyers and Senior Buyers supporting projects across multiple locations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify raw material and procurement requirements.
  • Negotiate favorable commercial terms leveraging vendor relationships and purchasing scale.
  • Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies for raw materials and fabrication services.
  • Negotiate vendor pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual terms.
  • Monitor commodity markets and forward-looking cost curves.
  • Evaluate impacts of tariffs and market conditions on procurement strategy.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Partner with Engineering on specifications, documentation, and supplier submittals.
  • Ensure project-specific flow-down requirements are incorporated into supplier agreements.
  • Manage procurement schedules to avoid disruptions in fabrication and construction activities.
  • Facilitate supplier meetings focused on performance improvement and strategic opportunities.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibility for procurement teams across multiple sites.

Work Location

This position will work out of our Manufacturing Facility in Jacksonville, FL. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely.

Work Environment
Most work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to SEA Fabrication Shop for observation and research are required.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel
Up to 15% travel may be required for this position. Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary. Occasional travel to customer job sites and conferences may be required.

Required Education and Experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.
  • Minimum 7 years of sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance preferred. APICS, C.P.M., or C.P.I.M. certifications preferred.
  • Experience purchasing highly engineered equipment and familiarity with JD Edwards preferred.

Work Authorization
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
