This leadership role is responsible for guiding large-scale Agile delivery initiatives and enabling high-performing teams through Lean-Agile practices.
The position serves as a strategic facilitator for Agile Release Train operations, improving collaboration, transparency, and delivery outcomes across multiple teams.
You will partner with product, engineering, business stakeholders, and Agile practitioners to drive alignment and continuous improvement.
The role combines coaching, program execution, risk management, and operational excellence within a regulated healthcare technology environment.
You will help establish effective Agile rhythms, optimize workflows, and promote a culture of innovation and accountability.
This remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced Agile leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys empowering teams to deliver meaningful results.

Accountabilities:

The Agile Program Director will serve as a servant leader and Agile coach, responsible for enabling effective program execution, improving delivery flow, and supporting teams in adopting scalable Agile practices. This role requires strong facilitation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization.

  • Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) events, including PI Planning, ART Syncs, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt sessions.
  • Prepare and coordinate PI Planning activities to ensure alignment around shared objectives, priorities, and delivery commitments.
  • Manage and continuously improve Program Kanban practices, applying flow metrics and WIP limits to optimize delivery performance.
  • Monitor ART predictability, delivery outcomes, risks, and dependencies while providing transparent reporting to stakeholders.
  • Support budget and delivery reporting through data-driven insights and performance tracking.
  • Facilitate risk management activities using ROAM practices and ensure risks are actively managed through resolution.
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering teams to improve backlog readiness, prioritization, and execution alignment.
  • Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, business stakeholders, and leadership teams on Lean-Agile principles and servant leadership.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop Scrum Masters and Agile team coaches to strengthen team effectiveness.
  • Promote DevOps practices, continuous delivery capabilities, and built-in quality approaches.
  • Support compliance-focused delivery practices within regulated environments involving sensitive healthcare information.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced Agile delivery leader with a strong background in program-level facilitation, coaching, and enterprise Agile transformation. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, stakeholder management capabilities, and experience working with complex cross-functional teams.

  • 6+ years of experience in Agile delivery, including at least 2 years in a program-level facilitation or coaching role such as Release Train Engineer or Senior Scrum Master.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or coaching Scrum Masters or Agile team coaches.
  • Proven experience facilitating SAFe PI Planning and ART-level ceremonies.
  • Strong understanding of ART/Program Kanban, dependency management, risk management, and Agile flow metrics.
  • Experience using Agile ALM tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, and virtual collaboration platforms.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong results-oriented mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience working in healthcare IT environments and understanding of privacy or regulatory requirements preferred.
  • SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) or SAFe® Program Consultant (SPC) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CALMR principles, and Continuous Delivery Pipelines preferred.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary range of $155,000 - $165,000.
  • Fully remote work opportunity within the United States.
  • Opportunity to lead impactful Agile transformation initiatives in a healthcare technology environment.
  • Collaborative culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and team empowerment.
  • Professional growth opportunities through leadership, coaching, and Agile transformation work.
  • Opportunity to work with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, and business operations.
  • Exposure to modern Agile frameworks, DevOps practices, and data-driven delivery optimization.
