About the Role:
The Branch Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of our manufacturing facility, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This position is responsible for leading a team of employees, providing guidance and support to foster a productive work environment. The Branch Supervisor will implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce waste, directly impacting the overall performance of the branch. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of activities. Ultimately, the Branch Supervisor contribute to the achievement of company goals and objectives by supervising employees in the completion of work in accordance with fabrication schedules and quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand written order specifications including units of measure in both English and Metric
- Must be proficient with computer use, including but not limited to Mircrosoft Office Suite
- Three to four years satisfactory experience independently and safely setting up and operating all machinery and related tools/equipment and performing all fabrication processes on entire shift
- Satisfactory completion of required training program(s) i.e. Safety; Right to Know; supervisory course, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate, and train others
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude with 3-4 years field service or related experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
- Certification in Six Sigma or similar quality management methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Assign and oversee employees in the completion of scheduled work; ensure orders are completed and shipped as scheduled
- Exercise sound judgement to accept or reject finished or unfinished belts when quality is questionable; recommend techniques/solutions to conform belts to quality standards or re-use material to eliminate waste
- Perform inspections to ensure order is fabricated according to order form and quality control standards
- Effectively lead, motivate, and train employees; conduct performance evaluations; advise and/or discipline employees on job-related matters necessary
- Assist and/or substitute for subordinates as necessary
- Accurately prepare production reports and other management reports
- Follow and enforce safety procedures at all times to prevent injuries and to avoid damage to company property
- Effectively communicate and cooperate with supervisors, peers, and subordinates to achieve company goals and objectives
- Schedule and coordinate the activities of field service personnel to ensure all installations and/or service orders are promptly and properly completed. Perform training on updated Work Instructions. Perform Field Service installations
- Ensure tools and equipment are routinely checked and kept in proper working condition
- Properly complete and maintain all related field service paperwork (i.e. installation reports, vehicle maintenance reports, etc.)
- Maintain and care for field service equipment
- Routinely emphasize field safety procedures and help ensure installation/service personnel adhere to them at all times
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and organized
- Provide Payroll with weekly timesheets showing hours worked by employees; maintain timecards and up-to-date absenteeism records
Physical:
- Occasional*, heavy lifting
- Continuous* standing and walking
- Occasional* handling, pulling, and pushing using medium force
- Occasional* stooping, crouching, reaching and twisting
- Occasional* light pressure use of hand-arm and leg-foot controls to operate machinery and equipment
- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less to be able to accurately read printed workshop order form and perform precision work involving exact measurements of length, width and thickness of various belting material
- Hear and speak clearly and distinctly to understand and verbally communicate with team members and others
