This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Due Diligence Manager – Data Centers based in United Kingdom.
As a Technical Due Diligence Manager, you will play a critical role in evaluating the technical feasibility of large-scale data center and AI infrastructure projects across the EMEA region. Working at the intersection of engineering, real estate, and infrastructure development, you will lead multidisciplinary due diligence efforts that directly influence strategic investment decisions. This position combines technical expertise with commercial awareness, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams and external consultants. You will also contribute to building scalable due diligence frameworks, standards, and best practices for future infrastructure projects. - Lead multidisciplinary technical due diligence programs for data center, powered land, build-to-suit, and other strategic infrastructure projects.
- Define and coordinate engineering, environmental, geotechnical, surveying, utility, permitting, and entitlement studies required to assess site feasibility.
- Manage external engineering firms, environmental specialists, and technical consultants throughout the due diligence process.
- Evaluate technical findings and provide clear recommendations to support infrastructure acquisition and investment decisions.
- Identify technical risks related to constructability, utilities, environmental constraints, permitting, zoning, schedules, and overall project feasibility.
- Develop mitigation strategies and communicate technical risks alongside their commercial impact to internal stakeholders.
- Prepare technical reports, executive summaries, and recommendations for leadership and investment teams.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of due diligence standards, templates, review processes, and technical playbooks.
- Build and maintain a trusted network of engineering consultants and technical partners.
- Collaborate closely with site selection, engineering, legal, finance, energy, network, and project development teams throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Real Estate Development, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in technical due diligence, infrastructure development, site development, civil engineering, or large-scale industrial projects.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering, environmental, and technical consultants.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical investigations, environmental assessments, zoning, permitting, utility coordination, infrastructure development, and entitlement processes.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering studies and translate technical findings into practical business recommendations.
- Strong analytical, project management, and risk assessment capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging executive stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment while helping establish new processes and operational standards.
- Experience with hyperscale data centers, AI infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, or large infrastructure acquisition programs is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), PMP, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of utility infrastructure, power markets, or transmission systems is a plus.
