The Inside/Outside Sales Representative will primarily focus on developing and maintaining trade specific client relationships through prospecting, outreach, and business development techniques. The main responsibility of the role is to maximize sales volume and provide the best possible service while enhancing the Baker Interiors Group mission to offer the highest quality and service standards in the industry. We’re seeking a motivated and collaborative professional with a passion for furniture and a desire to succeed in a competitive environment. This role requires a balance of entrepreneurial drive and disciplined follow-up, with a strong focus on building lasting client relationships. They will bring their industry knowledge, passion for sales, existing industry relationships and networking abilities to the role. The territory includes Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Delaware.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for initiating, cultivating, and sustaining strong mutually beneficial relationships with the Design Community in surrounding territories. Will research interior design firms, contacts and opportunities regularly
  • Schedule regular product presentations with design firms to introduce our latest and most impactful collections
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Educate clients on vast product offerings, custom capabilities available, website tools
  • Outgoing and positive personality, comfortable presenting to groups
  • Maintain client relationships and grow sales with accounts on a yearly basis – partner with existing sales representatives when out in the field representing the showroom
  • Share calendar & communicate with the Showroom Manager regarding travel schedule
  • Inform clients of stock, price increases, lead times and other product information
  • Create and maintain quotations for customers and follow through until close of sale
  • Provide customers with materials and catalogues for their libraries
  • Participate in design-oriented events to ensure visibility and contact with current and potential clientele
  • Generate a quarterly synopsis of your territory with updated goals for accounts and plans for future outreach
  • Collaborate and strategize territory plans with the Showroom Manager
  • Monitor all open orders from initial quoting to delivery and include all pertinent and available information
  • Review purchase orders once they are generated and confirm receipt by the factory. Audit factory acknowledgments and verify that the product has been ordered correctly
  • Follow up with customers after delivery to ensure the product and the service are acceptable
  • Manage budget for monthly expenses with showroom manager and submit all expenses in a timely manner

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Candidate will possess previous high-end sales & customer experience, preferably 2+ years in the furniture and design industry. Basic knowledge of the history of furniture design is preferred. Driver’s License, vehicle, and regular travel required.
