The Spartanburg Methodist College Athletic Department is seeking a dependable, motivated, and enthusiastic student to join our team as a Work Study Assistant for Facilities and Game Day Operations. This position provides hands-on experience in collegiate athletics while supporting the daily operations of the athletic department.
This position will work directly with the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Game Day Operations to assist with facility preparation, game day operations, event setup and breakdown, equipment organization, and other operational tasks. Students will gain valuable experience in athletic administration, event management, facility operations, and customer service while contributing to the successful execution of practices, competitions, and special events.
Key Responsibilities:
• Event Preparation & Support: Assist with setup, execution, and breakdown of athletic
events including equipment placement, signage, crowd control barriers, and field/court
prep.
• Facility Operations: Support daily operations of athletic facilities including routine
walkthroughs, cleanliness checks, and reporting maintenance needs.
• Scheduling Assistance: Help coordinate facility and weight room scheduling across
multiple sports and teams; update calendars and usage logs as needed.
• Game Day Operations: Aid with various game day duties such as locker room setup,
credential distribution, scoreboard operation, or assisting visiting teams and officials.
• Communication Support: Serve as a liaison between athletics staff, coaches, and
campus departments to help facilitate smooth event execution.
• Administrative Tasks: Assist with data entry, signage creation, filing work orders, and
other general office responsibilities.
• Customer Service: Provide a welcoming and helpful presence for athletes, coaches,
officials, and fans during events and daily facility use.
• Special Projects: Support ongoing projects such as facility improvements, sustainability
initiatives, or process audits as assigned.

Applicants should be organized, reliable, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. An interest in athletics, event management, or sports operations is preferred but not required.
