Job Summary:

Responsible for the coordination of one or more public service functional areas. Provides leadership, budget oversight, staff development, and work direction in the functional area(s) to all Library staff. Works closely with the Library Leadership Team to ensure all operational objectives of the functional area(s) are aligned with Library and county priorities and to create a clear vision for service enhancement. Actively pursues opportunities for outreach and collaboration with community partners.Essential Duties:

• Works with Library Management to integrate ideas and projects into a clear vision for service enhancement. Supports the Community Engagement Manager and staff in the determination and advancement of Learning and Outreach priorities.

• Markets and promotes functional area services to the public. Creates web content, social media posts, provides tours, creates promotional brochures, and performs related public relations activities. Plans, coordinates, and/or presents county-wide programs for children, teens, adults, and seniors at all libraries and in the community. Maintains and analyzes statistical reports.

• Seeks out possibilities for outreach and initiates relationships with new partners, particularly in underrepresented communities or demographics. Helps partners see opportunities for involvement as they become familiar with Library services and the county strategic plan.

• Operates the Readmobile, Scott County's 32-foot early learning outreach vehicle. Operation includes completing pre- and post-trip checklists, driving to and from service sites, setting up, and parking.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires equivalency of a Bachelor's Degree and two years of progressively responsible, broad-based library, education or related experience.

• Must possess a valid driver's license. The incumbent shall provide a reliable means of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities.

SELECTION PROCESS

Selection for this position will be based on a minimum qualifications screening and rating of training and experience. Top candidates will be forwarded to hiring manager or supervisor for consideration for interview and/or additional assessments. Final selection will include a background check and approval by the County Board.
