Senior Manager - Program Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager - Program Management based in the United States.

This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee complex healthcare and pharmaceutical programs with significant client and operational impact.
You will lead managers and supervisory teams while ensuring contracted services are delivered effectively, consistently, and within budget.
The role combines program operations, strategic planning, client relationship management, employee development, and continuous improvement.
You will serve as a senior point of contact for complex client issues and help translate operational insights into actionable solutions.
Working across functions, you will influence processes, scalability, technology initiatives, and long-term program performance.
The environment is highly collaborative and fast-paced, with exposure to internal leaders, external clients, healthcare professionals, and industry organizations.
This is a remote opportunity with travel and participation in both virtual and in-person meetings or events as needed.

Accountabilities
  • Oversee managers, associate managers, and supervisors to ensure teams consistently deliver high-quality support to patients and healthcare providers while meeting service expectations.
  • Manage assigned programs according to contractual scopes of work, business rules, standard operating procedures, budgets, and operational objectives across one or more sites.
  • Provide senior oversight of program activities, monitor performance metrics and statistics, identify operational trends, and support escalation and resolution of complex cases.
  • Serve as a strategic day-to-day contact for complex clients, resolving issues, communicating priorities, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Lead the preparation, analysis, and presentation of client reports, program deliverables, and business reviews, including monthly and quarterly presentations.
  • Partner with managers and cross-functional teams to evaluate operational efficiency, investigate client concerns, and develop practical improvements to processes and workflows.
  • Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures, project-specific processes, training materials, portal requirements, and electronic application solutions.
  • Contribute to strategic and business planning by identifying initiatives, researching operational challenges, developing recommendations, and helping ensure programs remain scalable for future growth.
  • Assist with budget development and tracking while maintaining accountability for program performance and contractual requirements.
  • Recruit, interview, train, mentor, and evaluate employees while developing supervisory capabilities and providing guidance on performance management and corrective actions.
  • Cultivate relationships with professional organizations, medical societies, clients, and other key external stakeholders to strengthen program visibility and collaboration.
  • Represent the program in internal and external meetings and events, participate in strategic initiatives, and travel as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or an associate degree combined with equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience, or 6–10 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical environments and approximately 4 years of prior management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing complex programs, managing teams, and delivering services within defined scopes, budgets, procedures, and contractual requirements.
  • Strong client-facing and relationship-management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and resolve complex issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and documentation skills, including the ability to develop program materials, procedures, reports, and application requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret operational information, identify trends, evaluate risks, and develop effective recommendations.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and general business technology tools.
  • Ability to organize people, processes, and systems around shared objectives while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, proactively communicate issues, and coordinate effective solutions across operational teams.
  • Experience with customer service processes is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed and participate in both virtual and in-person meetings or events.
