At PowerRise, we champion safety, innovation, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring every project contributes to a more equitable and sustainable energy future.
Position Summary
PowerRise is seeking a seasoned Project Construction Manager, specifically in water infrastructure, to lead and manage all on-site construction aspects for critical water utility projects. This demanding role requires extensive knowledge of utility construction practices, exceptional leadership skills, and the proven ability to effectively coordinate and supervise construction teams and subcontractors in a dynamic field environment, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
CONSTRUCTION OVERSIGHT AND FIELD MANAGEMENT:
o Direct and manage all phases of on-site construction, from pre-construction planning and site mobilization through to commissioning and final project closeout, ensuring strict adherence to project plans, specifications, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
o Effectively manage, coordinate, and motivate construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring optimal resource allocation and timely completion of all field activities.
o Rigorously monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure adherence to demanding schedules and budgets, proactively identifying and resolving any deviations or challenges.

o Champion a "Safety First" culture across all construction sites, enforcing strict adherence to OSHA regulations, PowerRise's safety standards, and client-specific safety protocols.
o Implement, oversee, and maintain rigorous quality control and quality assurance procedures throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring all work meets or exceeds stringent quality expectations and specifications.
o Conduct regular and thorough site inspections to monitor safety compliance, work quality, and environmental adherence, proactively identifying and rectifying potential issues.
COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION:
o Collaborate closely and effectively with Project Managers, Engineers, procurement teams, and other internal/external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and integration of construction activities.
o Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with construction teams, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory bodies, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns promptly.
o Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records and documentation of all construction activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and safety documentation, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in construction management, with a proven and verifiable track record of successfully managing and delivering complex water utility construction projects (e.g., water treatment, wastewater management, stormwater control infrastructure, and main-service replacements).
• In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, heavy equipment, and safety regulations (OSHA) pertinent to the electric utility industry.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the demonstrated ability to effectively manage, mentor, and motivate diverse field teams in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud) and project tracking/reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
• Significant experience with substation construction, upgrades, and/or maintenance projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical safety codes (e.g., NESC, NFPA 70E) and relevant utility standards.
• Experience managing union and non-union labor.
