Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer based in Brazil.

The role focuses on driving software quality across modern mobile and web applications within a fast-growing technology environment.
You will lead QA strategy, build scalable testing practices, and ensure reliable product releases through automation and strong engineering collaboration.
The position offers the opportunity to shape quality processes from the ground up and influence development standards across teams.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for defining and executing comprehensive quality strategies, improving test automation, and embedding quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle. Working closely with engineering and product teams, this role ensures reliable, scalable, and customer-focused digital experiences.

  • Define, develop, and execute test strategies, test plans, and test cases to support high-quality product releases.
  • Perform manual and automated testing across frontend and backend systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Build, maintain, and expand automated test frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Validate APIs, backend services, and system integrations using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar solutions.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution using issue management platforms.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure new releases maintain stability and backward compatibility.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using modern cloud and infrastructure technologies.
  • Contribute to QA best practices, process improvements, and the development of a strong quality-focused engineering culture.
  • Mentor team members on testing methodologies, automation practices, and quality standards.
  • Analyze potential risks, edge cases, and customer-impacting issues to continuously improve product reliability.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced QA professional with strong technical expertise, a passion for software quality, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. You should have experience building testing strategies, improving automation coverage, and working within modern software development environments.

  • 5–8+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance or software testing roles.
  • Strong experience creating, executing, and maintaining test plans, test cases, and defect management processes.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent tools.
  • Solid knowledge of API testing practices and tools including Postman, RestAssured, or similar solutions.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows and release processes.
  • Understanding of backend systems, databases, cloud infrastructure, and distributed applications.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Python, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Kubernetes, Docker, or AWS environments is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering reliable and high-quality software.
  • Experience working in fintech, payments, or other highly regulated technology environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to performance testing, load testing tools, or mobile automation frameworks such as Appium is a plus.
  • Experience establishing QA processes in early-stage or rapidly scaling organizations is advantageous.
