About the Role: The Manager, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies to optimize costs, quality, and supplier relationships. This role involves analyzing market trends, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure the procurement of goods and services aligns with business objectives. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, expertise in supplier management, and a strategic mindset to drive efficiency and innovation in the supply chain. Integrates financial and operating plans with strategic objectives to deliver improved operating and financial results.
Responsibilities:
• Developing and implementing efficient sourcing and category management strategies
• Analyzing and calculating costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure
• Identifying and exploring lucrative sourcing opportunities through industry research and networking
• Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms
• Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Assessing, managing, and mitigating risks in procurement processes
• Performing cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking for the business
• Estimating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques
• Developing and managing the procurement team
• Identify potential risks in the logistics process and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring continuity and reliability in operation
• Develop contingency plans for logistics disruptions and lead crisis management efforts during unexpected events
• Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and make data-driven decisions
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies:
• Minimum of five years’ progressive experience in supply chain, project management and procurement.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience
• Three+ years of direct management experience in a consumer goods or manufacturing company, preferred
• Knowledge and experience in MRP and ERP systems including inventory control, materials requirements planning, item master, demand planning, and advanced supply chain planning and analytics preferred
• Knowledge in lean principles/methodologies preferred
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to summarize data to drive decision making.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills. Strong negotiation skills
• Demonstrated ability to be organized, flexible and easily adapt in a changing and fast-paced working environment
• Ability to develop, foster and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people within the organization
• Proven ability to work well in high pressure situations to meet deadlines and take accountability for delivering on commitments
• Advanced ability to make fact-based decisions with a sense of calculated risk-taking
• Approaches problems strategically to provide alternate course of action and offer recommendations for problem resolution
• Data-driven, with demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems with strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Negotiation Skills – Expertise in contract negotiations to secure the best value.
• Risk Management – Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks.
• Project Management – Overseeing sourcing initiatives from start to finish.
• Supplier Relationship Management – Building long-term partnerships with vendors.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
