Job Description

Summary:

The Consumer/Small Business Sales Associate plays a crucial role in the origination and servicing of consumer and small business loans, managing the segments portfolio, and participating in sales initiatives. The associate is responsible for supporting the Consumer/Small Business Relationship Managers by managing the administrative and operational aspects of loans from application to closing. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, managing loan documentation, maintaining customer files, and actively collaborating with various departments including underwriting, loan operations, and compliance. The associate closely manages the credit quality and all applicable aspects of the segment portfolio. The associate acts as a point of contact for established customers and helps streamline communication and processes across teams to ensure efficient loan origination and servicing.

  • Loan Origination & Processing:
    • Assist in managing the loan workflow from application to closing, including entering new loan requests, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., Reg B).
    • Coordinate loan approval process, including working with Relationship Managers, Credit Underwriters, and other stakeholders.
    • Research borrower, guarantor, and collateral details, ensuring due diligence is completed and documented.
    • Prepare and maintain client credit files throughout the loan process.
  • Loan Closing & Documentation:
    • Oversee the loan closing process, ensuring all conditions of loan approval are met and collaborate with Loan Operations to ensure documentation is prepared accurately and timely.
    • Communicate and coordinate with third-party stakeholders (attorneys, accountants, insurance agents, appraisers, etc.) to facilitate smooth loan closings.
    • Order, review, and finalize loan documents, ensuring all required documents are executed properly before disbursing loan proceeds.
    • Handle adverse or withdrawn loans and ensure appropriate documentation and processing.
  • Portfolio Management:
    • Ensure credit quality of the consumer/small business portfolio.
    • Process line of credit renewals.
    • Perform annual reviews of all loan exposures meeting defined criteria.
    • Monitor lines of credit on borrowing bases and ensure compliance with stated loan terms.
    • Monitor risk rating on assigned relationships and recommend changes when necessary.
    • Monitor credit concerns and recommendations and resolve as necessary.
    • Manages note modifications and loan servicing requests.
    • Utilize CRM for documentation and tracking activities.
    • Collaborate with underwriters and credit analysts on annual reviews and renewals.
    • Complete all requirements of loan bookings, to include all preparation, review, documentation and filing for note modifications and loan servicing requests.
    • Develop a working knowledge of all customers, businesses, and prospect opportunities and contacting them as needed in support of managing the relationship.
    • Review current account status, to include but not limited to, past due accounts and notes matured. Make appropriate recommendations for these accounts.
  • Customer & Relationship Management:
    • Act as a liaison between the Relationship Manager and customers, providing support as necessary and answering inquiries regarding loans, payments, and loan advances.
    • Assist with financial request letters and monitor any necessary financial covenants.
    • Support the Relationship Managers in new loan efforts including any industry and company research.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    • Monitor and maintain compliance with all bank lending policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring all aspects of loan processing are in line with regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare financial reports, track loan statuses, and maintain accurate records in CRM systems.
    • Participate in achieving department KPIs, including loan volume, submission accuracy, and error rates.
    • Monitor reporting to include: credit quality annual line of credit renewals.
  • Miscellaneous Duties:
    • Prepare documents in Word and Excel, processing mail and invoices, and managing office supplies as needed.
    • Register with PAN to act as a notary for loan documents and closings.
    • Manage team email mailbox and fax number for efficient workflow.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the bank’s lending efforts and vision.

Required Education and Experience:

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or related field required. Will consider equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Hold an NMLS or ability to obtain within 6 months of role entry.
  • Must be proficient in basic software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to gain working knowledge of commercial, real estate and construction lending.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Supervisory Requirements:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, monitors, mouse, keyboard, phones, printers, scanners, photocopiers, filing cabinets, calculator, and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flexibility of schedule to meet business needs is required.

Salary: $58,333.33 - $84,000.00

Pay Transparency:

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive-eligible, with payment based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
