The Drain Technician is responsible for diagnosing, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial drainage systems. This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills, customer service abilities, and knowledge of drain cleaning equipment and plumbing systems. The technician will ensure drainage systems operate efficiently while providing quality service and maintaining safety standards.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and identify drain and sewer line issues.
  • Perform drain cleaning using snakes, hydro jetting equipment, and other specialized tools.
  • Clear clogs and blockages in sinks, toilets, floor drains, and sewer systems.
  • Conduct video camera inspections to locate and assess drain line problems.
  • Recommend repair or replacement solutions when necessary.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs related to drain systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials used.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and estimates clearly to customers.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous drain cleaning, plumbing, or related field experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of drain cleaning equipment and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot drainage issues effectively.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer and mobile device proficiency for documenting work.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and drain cleaning equipment safely.
