As a rapidly growing company, we are looking for a Customs Compliance Specialist to ensure compliance with customs regulations, facilitate the timely clearance of imported and exported goods, and minimize risks associated with international trade activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Customs Compliance
- Ensures import and export activities comply with applicable customs laws, trade regulations, and company policies.Maintains accurate classification of products using HTS codes.Supports customs valuation, country of origin determination, and free trade agreement qualification processes.Monitors regulatory changes and communicates impacts to internal stakeholders.Assists with customs audits, regulatory inquiries, and corrective action plans.
Customs Clearance
- Coordinates customs clearance activities with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and government agencies.Reviews and verifies shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.Resolves customs ho9lds, inspections, and clearance exceptions in a timely manner.Ensures accurate submission of customs declarations and related documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or related field; 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, ERP systems, and transportation management systems.Knowledge of tariff classification, customs, valuation, and country of origin requirements.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Experience with US Customs and Border Protection and Free Trade Agreements.Knowledge of international trade regulations across multiple regions.Licensed Customs Broker certification preferred.
