Physical Therapist – RWJBarnabas Health

At RWJBarnabas Health, the Physical Therapist plays a critical role in helping patients restore movement, improve function, and achieve greater independence. Working in an outpatient rehabilitation setting, they evaluate and treat pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients while developing individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s needs, goals, and clinical presentation.

A typical day for a Physical Therapist may include:

  • Evaluates pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients to assess physical function, mobility, strength, and limitations
  • Develops individualized physical therapy treatment plans based on patient evaluations, clinical findings, and established goals
  • Plans and implements treatment programs using standard physical therapy procedures and evidence-based clinical practices
  • Provides skilled therapeutic interventions designed to improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, and overall physical function
  • Monitors patient progress and modifies treatment plans as appropriate to support safe and effective outcomes
  • Educates patients and families regarding treatment plans, therapeutic exercises, home programs, and strategies to support continued progress
  • Documents patient evaluations, treatments, progress, and outcomes accurately and in accordance with professional and departmental standards
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team to support coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Provides compassionate care tailored to the developmental and functional needs of patients across the lifespan
  • Maintains a safe, professional, and welcoming outpatient rehabilitation environment

To be considered for this Physical Therapist opportunity:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy preferred
  • Must hold and maintain an active Physical Therapist license in good standing from the State of New Jersey
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Must be available to work two evenings per week and occasional Saturdays
