  • JOB SUMMARY AND SPECIFICATIONS
    • JOB SUMMARY
      • Under the direction of the Operating Room Manager, works as a team member in assisting the doctors, nurses and other operating room workers. Sets up the operating surgeon`s sterile table trying to anticipate what might be needed during the procedure. Assists in donning gowns, gloves, and masks as well as passing instruments to the surgeons. Assists with cleaning the operating room after an operation. Assists with transporting patients to and from the operating room. Helps keep track of equipment/supplies. Operates machinery in the operating room. Mandatory certification requirement after one year of employment. Assists in nightly task determined by manager including but not limited to other tasks: ensure cases are pulled 48 hours in advance, ensure add on cases for the next business day are pulled, assist with outdates, stocking surgical suites, rotating stock in rooms and supply closets, dusting OR shelves, and setting up rooms for the next day. Will be responsible for starting early add-on cases prior to staff arrival.?Responsible to start opening for certain procedures first thing in the morning. Responsible for bringing specialty carts outside the rooms. Responsible for damp dusting rooms prior to first starts. Responsible to fill anesthesia gases.
    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • Professional & Technical Skills
        • Graduate of approved school for Surgical Technologists.
      • Education
        • Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
      • License(s) or Certification(s)
        • CPR Certification
      • Other Skills or Requirements
      • Skilled to Care for Certain Age-Related Patient Groups (incumbents will be skilled in the care of the following patient groups)

They will be under the direction of the surgeon and/or circulating nurse.
