EEG Technician, Electroneurodiagnostic tech, New Brunswick at RWJBarnabas Health – New Brunswick, New Jersey

Job Overview:

The EEG Technician is responsible for performing EEG tests when requested by a physician.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• EEG experience required

Preferred:

• Board registration within one (1) year from date of hire

Scheduling Requirement:

• This is full-time (40 hours per week) night shift position.
• Weekly schedule may include 5 (8 hour) shifts, or 4 (10 hour) shifts; every third weekend required. This position may be eligible for a shift differential.

Essential Functions:

• The EEG Technician is responsible for performing EEG tests when requested by a physician.
• As part of the testing process, an EEG Technician will gather a patient's medical history, explain testing procedures, and prepare the patient for the procedure.
• During testing, the EEG Technician monitors the patient's status and notes any abnormalities.
• After testing is complete, the EEG Technician reports their findings to the patient's doctor for further analysis.
