Charlotte Mechanical has an immediate opening for an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician who is looking for more than just the next service call. Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • Weekends, overtime, and on-call as assigned

Position Summary

The Residential HVAC Service Technician is responsible for providing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on residential heating and air conditioning systems in accordance with company standards. This role offers opportunities to expand technical expertise, increase responsibility, and advance into senior or leadership positions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, and repair residential HVAC systems using industry best practices
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Identify system issues and recommend effective repair solutions
  • Communicate clearly with customers, explaining findings and options in a professional manner
  • Apply a broad range of troubleshooting techniques across multiple equipment types
  • Utilize air balancing principles and techniques to improve system performance
  • Maintain accurate service documentation using company systems
  • Uphold company safety, quality, and customer service standards

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of HVAC equipment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of air balancing principles and techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • Universal EPA Certification (Type II minimum required)
  • 2+ years of residential HVAC service experience
  • Insurable driving record
  • Possession of required hand tools
