We are currently seeking:

HOSPICE BEREAVEMENT COORDINATOR

Full Time

(Covering Anson, Union, and Mecklenburg Counties)

Job Description:

• Assesses the bereaved prior to and after the death of the patient.
• Manages the bereavement services program utilizing Hospice staff and volunteers.
• Plans, implements and facilitates bereavement support groups for hospice families and the community.
• Provides monthly reporting of bereavement services to Psychosocial Coordinator, Operations Manager and Patient Care Coordinator.
• Assists in providing community education on end of life issues as appropriate.
• Educates staff on ongoing grief resources, education and issues for increased knowledge.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in human services field such as social work, psychology, counseling or related field with experience and education in death and dying and the grief process; Masters degree preferred.
• Proficiency in writing and oral communication.
• Knowledge and skill with computer software programs to include Word, Excel.
• Good organizational skill and the ability to work efficiently with people.
• Experience in group facilitation and support intervention.
• Knowledge of the stages and reactions to grief and grief work.
