JOB SUMMARY
- Working in conjunction with the Critical Care Manager, the Clinical Supervisor assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and collaborates with other departments to ensure excellence in patient and family care reflective of CCMH mission, vision and values. Assists in the planning, direction, organization and is part of the leadership of the departmental services. Practices according to the rules and regulations of licensure by The State of Wyoming and Respiratory Professional guidelines.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
- Oversees and participates in the delivery of patient care, and documentation thereof.
- Shares in the responsibility of staffing and monitors delivery of patient care.
- Responsible for planning and assists with implementation of departmental training, including hiring and orientation, competency assessment, mentoring, coaching and evaluation.
- Ensures healthy team environment by role-modeling, participating in patient care and re-directing staff as needed to meet patient needs and support fellow team members.
- Models and fosters customer service excellence.
- Participates in development of departmental policies and procedures and monitors compliance with standards of clinical practice.
- Rounds on all patients to ensure that service expectations are met, and develops action plan to address patient concerns.
- Assists in the development of department budget and maintains fiscal compliance.
- Evaluates new procedures and equipment for the department.
- Collaborates with physicians and other health care members in communicating the plan of care and anticipated outcomes for the patient.
- Facilitates patient/family teaching, including physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
- Adheres to CCMH policies and procedures.
- Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
- Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Collaborates and participates in the development and oversight of the departmental QI process and plan (e.g., chart reviews, department-specific QI, Core Measures).

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
- Licensure: Current Wyoming license, RRT required
- Must have current Healthcare Provider CPR or Red Cross Professional Rescuer certification within 60 days of employment.
- Experience: 3 years experience Cardiopulmonary Services or previous experience in related clinical area with supervisory responsibility.
- Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Hand/eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills, able to speak clearly, computer skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, family, coworkers, and physicians. Able to communicate positively under stress.
- Essential Physical Requirements: Requires standing or walking for long periods of time. Requires stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Able to lift 40 pounds.
- Essential Mental Abilities: Able to prioritize multiple details simultaneously. Able to trouble-shoot problems. Analytical, interpretive skills. Requires higher level of short- and long-term mental faculties accompanied by long- and short-term memory.
- Essential Sensory Requirements: Corrected vision, hearing to normal range.
- Exposure to Hazards: OSHA CATEGORY I. TASKS THAT INVOLVE EXPOSURE TO BLOOD, BODY FLUIDS, OR TISSUES. All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or potential for spills or splashes of them, are Category I Tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I Tasks.
- Hours of Work: May require shift work and rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. Call may be required. May be required to work 4-, 8- or 12-hour shifts. May require working under stressful situations.

Completing annual competencies:
- 20 hours CEU and/or equivalent college credits
- Mandatory education required by policy
- Annual Skill Stations conducted/ completed
- ACLS encouraged
