About the Role:

The Tax Reviewer/Senior Accountant at Hara Chaudhuri CPAs PC will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of tax filings for a diverse portfolio of clients. This position involves reviewing tax returns, providing strategic tax planning advice, and identifying opportunities for tax savings. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with clients to understand their financial situations and offer tailored solutions that align with their goals. Additionally, this role requires staying updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure that all practices are compliant and beneficial for clients. Ultimately, the Tax Reviewer/Senior Accountant will contribute to the firm's reputation for excellence and reliability in tax services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or EA certification or equivalent professional designation.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in tax preparation and review.
  • Knowledge of US Tax Law and California Tax Law.
  • Strong Email and Verbal Communication skills.
  • Willing to work 40 to 50 hours a week during regular season, 45 to 60 hours a week during tax season.
  • Deep Experience with Lacerte Tax Software.
  • Deep Experience with Quickbooks.
  • Inquisitive and passionate about tax and accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze tax returns prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on tax planning strategies to clients, helping them minimize liabilities and maximize savings.
  • Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to stay informed about changes that may impact clients.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on tax-related matters to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review GAAP financial statements monthly, quarterly, annually
  • Be able to conduct special projects such as compilations, review engagements, tax provisions, etc.
  • Mentor and train junior accountants, fostering a collaborative and educational environment within the team.

The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of tax regulations and accounting principles, which are essential for accurately reviewing tax returns and advising clients. Attention to detail is critical, as the candidate will need to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with all tax laws.
