Nursing Assistant

I.Position Summary: The Nursing Assistant is responsible for:

• Performing basic resident care activities in a timely, efficient, effective and accurate manner for the provision of quality resident care.
• Implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health and psychosocial needs under the direction of the licensed nurse.

II. POSITIONRequirements:

1. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Nursing Assistant certificate required. Current Healthcare BLS validation preferred.

1. Education: High School Graduate or equivalent. Medical terminology preferred.

1. Experience: One or more years of hospital experience is preferred. Commensurate experience is acceptable. Alzheimer’s/

Dementia training as required by OHFLAC regulations preferred.

1. Safety: Participate in all required educational and competency offerings related to safety, including resident safety activities. Agree to abide by the SaintFrancisHospitalimplementation plans for the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals. Provides feedback concerning any resident safety issues identified within the hospital.

1. Special qualifications: Healthcare BLS validation required within 60 days of employment, with revalidation per AHA guidelines. Alzheimer’s/Dementia training as required by OHFLAC regulations required within 30 days of employment, then annually thereafter. Typing skills preferred. Experience with computers preferred.

1. Hours of work: Able to work scheduled hours as dictated by business needs. Includes rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime hours. Subject to flexing and floating.

1. Attendance: Consistent, predictable attendance, including punctuality, is required.
