Health Information Management Tech III at Central Peninsula Hospital – Soldotna, Alaska

POSITION SUMMARY: The Health Information Management (HIM) Technician III plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the HIM department by providing training and flexing to cover operational gaps as needed. This position works closely with the Privacy Officer to assist in the monitoring of privacy risks, conducting investigations of privacy-related incidents and violations, supporting incident and breach assessments, and contributing to monthly and annual privacy reporting. The Technician III also performs provider and clinician follow-up for documentation delinquencies and assists in troubleshooting issues across multiple electronic health record (EHR) systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/GED
• College Level Coursework in Healthcare Privacy & Security
• 1 year Health Information Management
• 1 year of experience, including receiving, researching privacy complaints/incidents, addendum requests, and/or performing audits.
• Registered Health Information Technician, preferred
