Maintenance Officer – Casual (Approx. 20 hours/week, with additional hours as required) in Bowen Hills, Queensland at Accord Care

We specialise in Supported Independent Living, In-home Care, Community Participation, Short-Term Accommodation, Community Nursing, and Allied Health Services. We pride ourselves on professionalism, integrity, and teamwork, and we are now seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our dedicated team.

We are looking for a proactive and reliable Maintenance Officer to ensure the safety, appearance, and functionality of our buildings and grounds. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and take initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct general building, equipment, and grounds maintenance
• Plan, prioritise, and complete daily maintenance tasks
• Supervise contractors or provide guidance to others as required
• Ensure compliance with all relevant WHS standards, policies, and procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation using MS Office and industry-related software
• Uphold organisational values through professional and respectful interactions with residents, staff, and stakeholders

Essential Criteria:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in maintenance, property, or groundskeeping
• Unrestricted Australian working rights
• Strong ability to prioritise workload and work independently
• Ability to supervise contractors and support others when required
• Knowledge of Work Health & Safety (WHS) principles
• Practical building and grounds maintenance skills, with a proactive and reliable work ethic
• Computer literacy, including MS Office and industry-related applications
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
• Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or willingness to obtain

Desirable:
• Trade qualifications in horticulture, building, electrical, plumbing, or related fields
• Experience working in the NDIS sector
• WHS-related qualifications
