Role Overview
As a Patient Services Coordinator, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, delivering efficient and compassionate support while ensuring they are directed to the appropriate care pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Professionally manage a high volume of inbound patient calls, maintaining an average of 12 calls per hour in line with KPIs
Actively listen to patients, accurately capture relevant information, and maintain thorough documentation
Triage and direct patients to appropriate services using the Total Triage system (without providing medical advice)
Identify urgent or high-risk cases and escalate them promptly in accordance with protocols
Promote and guide patients toward suitable online self-service options where appropriate
Uphold strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all data protection regulations
Collaborate effectively within a structured rota aligned with GP surgery operating hours
Participate in ongoing training and continuous professional development

Working Hours
35 hours per week
Shifts scheduled between 08:00 and 20:00, Monday to Friday
Rotational schedule including morning and afternoon shifts
Flexibility required to cover any shift within operating hours
Advance notice provided for any schedule changes
Candidate Requirements
Minimum of 1 year’s recent experience in a high-volume, patient-facing call-handling role
At least 1 year of hands-on experience using EMIS or SystmOne within a clinical GP setting (within the last 12 months - non negotiable)
Proficiency in Google Workspace
Strong multitasking ability and a typing speed of at least 40 WPM
High emotional intelligence, empathy, and resilience
Ability to follow structured processes and work effectively in a remote environment
Availability to work a flexible rota aligned with GP surgery hours
Compensation and Benefits
£12.71per hour (£23,132.20) per annum based on 35 hours per week)
