Essential Functions
- Adheres to WMC’s quality management system.
- Grade and sort plastic scrap parts according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage.
- Discard inferior or defective parts or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in Gaylord containers for further processing.
- Place products in containers according to grade and mark grades on containers.
- Record grade or identification numbers on tags.
- Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually or with hands to ensure standard quality specifications and requirements.
- Transfer materials, supplies, or products between work areas, using a forklift or manual methods.
- Safety Requirements: Understand and follow all WMC Health & Safety Practices. Report all injuries and unsafe work conditions. Attend mandatory safety training and request additional training as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Production Oriented: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Dependability: Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
- Attention to Detail: Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
- Cooperation: Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
- Integrity: Job requires being honest and ethical.
Education and/or Experience
- Entry-level position.
- 1-3 Years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Desired).
- 1-3 Years of experience operating a forklift (Desired).
Work Environment
- Plant/manufacturing facility. Not completely temperature-controlled.
Physical Demands
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and use hands and arms.
Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
