About This Position

Position Summary:

Reports to the Chief Medical Officer and Executive Leadership. Provides enterprise-wide leadership for coding quality, clinical documentation integrity, and incentive-based performance initiatives across all Southside Medical Center locations and providers. This role is responsible for designing and leading quality improvement frameworks, provider education programs, compliance strategy, and performance optimization efforts that support reimbursement accuracy, regulatory compliance, and value-based care success within the FQHC environment.

Position Description:

  • Lead enterprise strategy for coding accuracy, documentation excellence, and quality performance across all locations
  • Design scalable clinical documentation improvement (CDI) and provider education programs
  • Oversee coding audit frameworks and compliance governance structures
  • Drive performance on UDS, HEDIS, NCQA, and value-based incentive programs
  • Partner with executive leadership to align quality initiatives with organizational goals
  • Analyze enterprise performance data to guide improvement strategies
  • Lead provider engagement initiatives to improve documentation integrity and clinical outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, HRSA, OIG, HIPAA, and payer regulations
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to improve reimbursement accuracy and reduce denials
  • Develop performance dashboards and executive reporting
  • Lead corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor coding, quality, and compliance staff
  • Support organizational readiness for audits and accreditation reviews
  • Establish best practices for sustainable quality improvement

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of healthcare coding, compliance, and quality performance frameworks
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
  • Advanced data analytics and performance improvement expertise
  • Proven provider education and engagement capabilities
  • Excellent executive communication skills
  • Deep understanding of FQHC regulatory environment
  • Ability to lead enterprise-wide initiatives across multiple sites

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field (master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years healthcare operations, coding, quality, or compliance experience
  • Professional coding or compliance certification preferred
  • Experience leading multi-site healthcare initiatives
  • Strong background in value-based care and quality improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FQHC or community health center leadership experience
  • NCQA/PCMH accreditation leadership experience
  • Experience designing enterprise CDI programs
  • Executive reporting and board-level communication experience

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged computer and meeting work
  • Occasional travel between clinic locations
  • Ability to manage complex initiatives in fast-paced healthcare environments
